An Anuja based non-governmental organization, Al-mushahid Initiative for Transparency and Accountability (AITA) has described as national embarrassment the recent defections of some senators from the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) to the opposition parties.
Reacting to the defections by some senators and their political allies, the group noted that the actions of the law makers are devoid of national interest, but an attempt to unseat president Muhammadu Buhari.
A statement signed by the national president of the organization, Amb. Aminu Abubakar Majidadi, the group also noted that current cloud of political uncertainty hovering over the nation is saddening, adding that the conduct of anti-party loyalists was unacceptable.
It continued, “It will interest you to know that president Muhammadu Buhari remains the only president to date in Nigeria political history that has made honest return of N118 billion naira.
In other climes, this is enough to attract accolades, but the opposition parties are so alien to this fact.”
The group also reiterate that the development is a repeat of the unpleasant dose of the past administration, while also noting that Nigerians are aware of the source of unfriendly political tension in the country and are resolute to return president Buhari as democratically elected president come 2019 to savage poor state of governance in the country.
