Mr. Auwal Musa Kura said that while the publisher of the online newspaper Mr. Jaafar Jaafar, who first published the video, insists the video is genuine as he has carried out all necessary findings about the video before publishing it; Ganduje on his part rejected this claim calling it a cheap political blackmail.
AITA’s findings revealed that the giver of the said bribe is one of the contractors that carry out projects in Kano state, who is a friend of the exposer and publisher Mr. Jaafar Jaafar. The identity of the said contractor is withheld for security reasons and been backed up by whistleblower laws that protects the identity of the blower if he/she so choses to remain anonymous, sources revealed to AITA’ northern office that the said contractor had earlier complained to his friend Mr. Jaafar Jaafar about the governor’s persistent request for bribe before contracts are been awarded. Mr. Jaafar, in response to his friend’s complaint insisted that his friend (the contractor) must have a proof for the complaint without which nothing can be done. Sources said it was based on this demand made by Jaafar Jaafar to obtain a proof that led to the planting of a secret bio-camera that caught the governor red handed.
