AL-Mushahid Initiative for Transparency and Accountability (AITA), an international Non Governmental Organisation (NGO) has called on the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) and Federal Government to trade cautiously in trying to bring evidence against the senate president, Senator Abubakar Bukola Saraki to convict him on the alleged false declaration trial preferred against him.

In a statement made available to newsmen, president of AITA, Ambassador Aminu Abubakar Maijidadi said that a government that is fighting corruption like the President Muhammadu Buhari led government should not make try to make real the accusation in some quarters that the anti-corruption of the government is selected one. He explained that the many witnesses of the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) against the senate president with un-authenticated statements could make the trial laughable before the international community that if the senate president is finally convicted, it could be termed vindictiveness of the government. He said that situation where a statement by a witness was not signed but tenable in trial is nothing but a clear indication of witch-hunt.

He advised the government to make every statement and other evidences against the Senator Saraki authentic one to add credibility to the trial. Majidadi said that a case of this magnitude where high profile individuals are involved should be handled with all transparent nature that the world could see and refer to.

The AITA president also said that importing evidence against man to convict him is not criminal but a grave offence against the almighty. He advised those coming to the case with fabric evidences to desist from that as they will incur the wrath of God.
